Crossing Guard by Day, Children's Writer by Night!
Deby Fredericks, who writes for children as Lucy Ford, has been a writer all her life. She viewed it as just a fun hobby until the late 1990s; her first professional sale was in 2000.

"Lucy" has had short stories and poetry published in magazines such as Boys' Life, Babybug, Ladybug, and Spider.  She has short stories in two anthologies from Blooming Tree Press.

Fredericks does work as a crossing guard/noon aid at Longfellow Elementary in Spokane, WA.  Having daily contact with so many different kids is a constant source of inspiration.

She has finished a middle grade novel called Masters of Air and Fire, and a young adult novel called Curse of the Dark Elf, but hasn't found a publisher for them yet.

A bibliography is a list of a writer's published works.

Forthcoming Works
These are ones the publishers have bought but haven't printed yet.
  • "Spring Wind" and "Helicopters," two short poems, have been sold to Ladybug Magazine.
  • I will also be podcasting my middle grade novel, Masters of Air and Fire, starting in January of 2012.
